Homemade Oreo Truffles--Yum!

Truffles are things that you order from a magazine or buy from a very nice flower shop; so, the idea of making truffles had never entered my mind...until a recent cookie swap that my girls and I went too.

My friend Sheri P. had made truffles and while we were "Swappin'" cookies, my girls insisted that we get several of the truffles--and we did.

Sheri's truffles were yummy and my youngest daughter insisted that I ask for the recipe. In all honesty, I did not want the recipe because I just knew truffles would be too hard to make; but my daughter kept insisting.

So I asked for the recipe and Sheri's first two words were, "Too Easy." I read and reread the ingredients and how to make the truffles--I just knew Sheri had left something out---HA!

Only three ingredients folks!

Ready for the easiest truffle recipe ever, then read on...
::1 (8 oz) pack of cream cheese; at room temperature

::1 package of Oreos, crushed  (use food processor, blender (set it on the crumb setting), or crush them in a bag--must be really fine
*Mix the above two ingredients together, you can use a mixer, but we used our hands. :)
*Roll into balls, set the balls on wax paper, and refrigerate for an hour to help the balls firm up ( or you can place them in the freezer for about 30 to 45 minutes)

::1 package of Chocolate Almond bark melted (or any kind of melting chocolate will work)
**Let melted chocolate cool a little, but not harden. Dip balls into chocolate, drain excess off, set on wax paper

::Sprinkle with crushed Oreos or grated chocolate--optional

::Place balls back in refrigerator to firm up some
-Recipe yields 40-45 truffles
::Eat and enjoy

These make great homemade Christmas presents too.
