Apple Dumplings---Made with Mountain Dew {Featured in "A Month Full of Recipes"}

I never get a picture of these when they come right out of the oven, because they get devoured!

Ingredients:*2 whole Granny Smith Apples
*2 cans (8 Oz. Cans) Crescent Rolls
*2 sticks Butter
*1-1/2 cup Sugar
*1 teaspoon Vanilla
*Cinnamon--as much as you like
*1 can (12 Oz.) Mountain Dew Soda--I know what you are thinking---but seriously, just try the Mountain Dew in this recipe!

Directions:
*Peel and core apples. Cut each apple into 8 slices each. Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll. Place in a 9 x 13 buttered pan.

*Melt butter, then add sugar and stir just a little (one or two whirls--you want it grainy, not mixed well at all!).

*Add vanilla, stir, and pour entire mixture over apples. Pour Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan (do not pour over the apples, you want the butter and sugar mixture to 'cling' to the apples)

*Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.

If you try it, let me know how you like it.
