Working from Home--Blogging for Profit.

I have been a stay at home mom for 14 years now. I went from receiving a very nice income to receiving nothing at all! I will have to say it was the best decisions that my husband and I have ever made.

We have had tight times just like everyone else, but we got through them.

For many years, I dabbled in surveys and made some extra spending money, but I had an itch to do something more, I just didn't know what it was at the time.

One day, while on Face Book I asked my friends for a potato soup recipe and 37 of my friends (via FB) sent me a recipe. So, I thought that it would be neat to have a place for all our us to exchange recipes and thus the Swappin' Spoons Facebook page was born.

My husband is the one that thought of the name and of course, I loved it.

After about a month of being on Face Book, I thought about starting my own blog--my husband just gave me this look, you know that look that only husbands can give, anyways, I was already following a couple of blogs and they offered deals, freebies, advice about blogging and making money---I must admit the making money part really caught my attention.

So, with me knowing absolutely NOTHING about blogging I created a blog on Blogger. I started out with recipes and then ventured out with my coupon deals for our local grocery store---but I wasn't making any money. I noticed the couple of blogs that I followed had these ads on them--google ads, and I wanted them on mine. I worked hard and finally figured out how to get them on my blog.

I was so excited when I made my first two cents--literally 2 cents. I actually teared up and my husband thought that I had lost it--but I was excited.

It has been almost 4 years since I started blogging, and I love it more and more each day. I am still learning, I learn something new just about every single day, and it is usually from one of my fantastic readers. I think I have the best readers in the world!
