Home Depot has a new program to where they will pay you $3 for every old light set you recycle ( 5 sets per person)! The light sets can even be BROKEN! So bring in your old lights and get a $3 credit toward new energy efficient lights! Right now they have 50 lights on sale for $5.97- so $2.97 after your $3 credit. They are only running this program from November 5-15th. So, you might want to go ahead and start digging through your Christmas decorations to find those lights You can read more about it HERE..
Oooh. This is a really good tip. We're cleaning out my father's house and I pretty sure he's got a bunch of old lights.
